This fascinating specimen features an Pyrite Crystal in Marl (a combination of clay and calcium carbonate) can be used as Feng Shui element, decorator piece, or unique addition to your mineral collection. Iron Pyrite has a warm yellow color, it's metallic, and it glitters and sparkles like gold, which is why it's commonly called "fool's gold.". These rocks were formed approximately 125 - 130 million years ago in the same geological environment as the Jurassic sediments present in the La Rioja Province in Spain. Fossil dinosaur tracks are also commonly found in the rocks of this region.
