Mineralogy: Fluorite is a halide mineral composed of calcium fluoride. It commonly occurs in vein deposits with metallic minerals such as lead and zinc but can occur with other minerals as well. It has several different crystal habits. The cube is the most common followed by the octahedron. Fluorite has a hardness of 4 and forms in a variety of colors including white, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, brown, and bluish-black.
Metaphysical Properties- Due to Fluorite's many colors, it is a stone for both the head and the heart. Fluorite enhances focus and mental acuity as well as compassion toward self and others.
